Horses for Handicapped

VSS has been donating to Horses for Handicapped (HFH) for nearly twenty years. One of our employees, Janet Townsend, started volunteering for the organization over 17 years ago, and we’ve been involved ever since. Horses for Handicapped is an all-volunteer program established in 1981 (it celebrated its 39th year in 2020) that takes place each April at the Mississippi Fairgrounds. The four-day event provides horseback riding, wagon rides, and activities (burgers, hot dogs, petting zoo, games, exploring Fire Department equipment, etc.) to nearly 1,900 children and adults with disabilities.
